The Maritime Weather Forecast for the Estern Med published by DWD is by far the most precise and practical to use prevision that we could find.

It is updated twice daily (at 0600 GMT and at 1800 GMT) for Mallorca (”Baleares), Menorca (Baleares NW) and Ibiza (Baleares SW), I have been following it for years now and it usualy is right on spot.

This sea weather forecast shows wind direction, wind strength in Beaufort (and also for gusts = “Böen” separately), wave height and advises of thunderstorms, rain, fog, etc., for the next 3 days in intervals of 6 hours, and all at one glance.

To get the best idea about the correct prevision for the south coast of Mallorca we recommend you read both the “Baleares” and the “Baleares SW” (= Ibiza) entry, sea state usually turns out to be a mix of the two. Same goes for the nothern coast of Mallorca, here we recommend to also study the entry for “Baleares NE” (= Menorca).

On this one page here following stations and forecast areas are bundled together:

  • ALBORAN (35.97N 2.30W)
  • GULF OF LYON (42.17N 4.47E)
  • BALEARES SW (38.96N .87E)
  • BALEARES (39.23N 3.70E)
  • BALEARES NE (40.58N 2.90E)
  • LIGURIAN SEA (43.27N 9.28E)
  • KORSIKA W (41.42N 6.95E)
  • TYRRHENIAN SEA (41.47N 10.52E)
  • LIPARI SW (38.33N 14.98E)
  • BISKAYA (46.37N 5.67W)

Highly recommended, 5 stars from us.
