Like “The Bar”, this bar/fast food restaurant is one of the two places here in Sant Elm where the classic “Love it, or leave it” applies. It poplarizes the opinions.

Personally, I love it…

Technically, they are not a restaurant: The license that they have prohibits handing out forks or knives to their clients, so finger food is what it is (but if they know you you get the set anyway should you ask for it).

They are not cheap. The food is not reaching top standards at all (with the exception of their “Pepito de Lomo”, excellent price/quality relation). Service is - depending on time of day - slow at most, or - at other times of day - rather sluggish (bring some time and patience). You dont always get what you order (but there is a good chance you get stuff you didn`t even order, for free of cause ), etc., etc…

But all these seeming contras are more than well compensated by the pros:

• The bar is run by Juan and Sebastiana, an elder couple in their 70s who are some of the nicest persons I have met in my life: Of dry humour, they will sometimes give you a hard time (especially if you try and break their routine), but they are compassionate, intelligent, and knowledgable villagers and represent the “traditional” Mallorca as you know it from your travel guides.
• The bar is open til the last customer leaves. To no surprise, it is the bar that all other waiters and cooks attend when their places close down (or during their working breaks).
• The Ambiente is great, a large terrace fairly central in the village, dogs and playing kids are well tolerated. You have a question about the region, here you will get the answer…
• They sell cigarettes (a rarity after the imposed new anti-smokers law, we only have 4 places total in Sant Elm where you can pack up to supply your vice)
• Everything they do is done with sincerity and almost love, even the scarcely equipped Hamburgers can be (free of charge) prepped up to your liking and without complaint or extra charge
• You will meet (later at night after 11 pm) an astounding brew and mix of people from all around the island, the bar is “cult”…

Breaking down my rating to details again:

1. Food Quality: 3
2. Dishes and presentation: 3

4. Cleanliness: 4.5
5. Price/Quality Relation: 3.5
6. Ambiente: 5
7. Toilets: 3.5 (down rated due to having only one for both genders, the toilet itself is a 4.5)

In total, for me it sums up to a 3.7, which makes it a 4 stars rating in our system

If you are looking for a place that reminds you of how you felt at home at Grandmas house, thats the place you want to go to.

Especial mention deserves the pool billiard table and the fact that you can buy tobacco.
